Reba McEntire made history last week by hosting the American Country Music Awards for a record-breaking 17th time, and it’s safe to say she grabbed her own share of the spotlight.
The legendary singer was there to lead the ceremony in Fresco, Texas, having done this job many times before, including in 2019 and just last year.
At 69 years old, Reba knows exactly what she’s doing. Her opening speech showed that she was ready to shine once more. Fans watching from home had lots of nice things to say about Reba’s hosting abilities and also complimented her outfit on the red carpet.
According to reports, McEntire walked down the red carpet wearing a black sequined blazer paired with flared pants by Roberto Cavalli that had a lace design. She finished off her eye-catching look with turquoise jewelry like a necklace and chandelier earrings.
Of course, Reba’s outfit sparked all kinds of comments online. The singer who sang the “Star Spangled Banner” at this year’s Super Bowl is well-loved across America and beyond; her fans were out in full force after 2024’s ACM Awards.
“Absolutely stunning as always Reba,” one person commented. Another said: “You are fantastic at what you do! But we should also mention how great you look.“ “She is one beautiful woman,” said another fan.
But it wasn’t just her appearance that impressed people; they also loved her natural talent for hosting! This year marked McEntire’s seventeenth time leading the show while she’s been connected with ACM Awards for over four decades since winning her first award.
Reba didn’t miss mentioning this fact; she humorously noted that Jelly Roll used to be an after-school snack (referring to country music artist Jelly Roll), adding that back then she took a stagecoach instead of going to popular country music festivals!
Fans quickly shared their thoughts on Reba’s performance during the event.
“Having Reba host this year’s show feels like having your favorite aunt over for dinner,” one fan wrote on X. “She’s so sweet and you love hearing from her.”
Another added that star “is just an absolutely amazing entertainer; country music is lucky she’s around.”
“It’s always fun & feels like a party,” another fan chimed in.
A fifth person called McEntire “the best host ever.”
