Hurricane Helene will likely batter parts of the US in the coming days

This time, Hurricane Helene is predicted to cause a fair bit of destruction in the sunshine state,

with it being dubbed a category four storm by the time it makes landfall in the state later on Thursday (26 September).

According to the National Hurricane Center, the storm surge could climb as high as 20 feet on some coastlines, with the likes of Miami usually facing the brunt of such storms in the past.

Austrian scientists have developed InnoMake, a $3,000 shoe designed to help blind individuals avoid obstacles.

Created by Tec-Innovation and Graz University of Technology, the shoe uses waterproof ultrasonic sensors on each toe to detect objects up to 13 feet away,

alerting the wearer with vibrations and sounds.The sensors can differentiate between obstacles like walls, cars, or stairs.

Future versions may include camera-based recognition and machine learning for improved navigation. InnoMake aims to enhance the independence and safety of visually impaired individuals.
