I Never Imagined That Getting Hit by a Car Would Turn Out to Be the Best Thing That Ever Happened to Me — Story of the Day

Lucy once believed she had a happy life, but after her divorce, she felt lost and alone. One rainy day, while lost in thought, she almost stepped in front of a car. The driver angrily yelled at her, but his passenger, George, quickly got out, concerned.

“Are you alright?” he asked. Lucy nodded, still in shock. George offered to take her to a nearby mansion to dry off. Inside, the home’s elegance was a stark contrast to her recent struggles. George made tea, and she felt a rare sense of comfort.

A doctor arrived to check her minor injuries, and when George returned, he asked, “Do you remember me?”

“George from high school?” she replied, recognizing him. They laughed over shared memories, and Lucy found herself revealing her recent hardships—the divorce, her distant son, and losing her job.

“I wish things had gone differently,” she admitted.

“But we’re here now,” George said, holding her hand. When he suggested dinner, Lucy agreed, feeling warmth and hope return. In that moment, she realized life still had unexpected joys to offer.
