Yesterday, I was at a restaurant with my husband of 40 years celebrating our anniversary, and I saw THAT couple! God, they were the same age as we are, but… they were holding hands, giggling, and kissing the WHOLE evening!
I mean… you’re in your 50s or 60s. Do you seriously do that?! They’re definitely lovers!!! What if your neighbors or friends, or God forbid, relatives see it? It’s so ugly and unacceptable! Your time for kissing has already passed!!
I couldn’t just watch it and asked our waiter to tell them to stop. But he just smirked and said he couldn’t do that.
So, I decided to do it myself. I came between their kissing and demanded they stop their behavior, but instead, they caught me off guard with their words:
Them: “Who did you come here with?”
Me: “With my husband. It’s our 40th wedding anniversary! While you…”
Them: “Congrats! It’s our 45th.”
Me (shocked): “Thanks, but that’s still not right to…”
Them: “To express love? Your lovely husband is sitting all alone on his anniversary while his wife is trying to forbid others from showing how much they love each other. Do you think THIS is normal?”
I was fuming inside. Do you think I was really that wrong?!
